'Floating' is the fake soundtrack for an imaginary game, created for the OST Composing Jam. It is made entirely in Soundtrap and has a total runtime of 5:27 minutes.

I chose both themes and in my mind, 'Floating' is a cozy, slow platformer inspired by a mix of marine and Korean elements. Like Celeste, I think*. You go from level to level, meet some sea creatures and fellow humans,  . And obviously, you can float.

The title track is inspired by Hyangak, a traditional type of Korean court music. The rest of the songs are also partially inspired by Hyangak, but 'Floating' is the one track that I wanted to fully sound like a digital Hyangak song. It's supposed to be playing in the background of a level.

Intro and Credits are pretty obvious, they're supposed to be the opening and ending songs of the game. Intro is the only song I didn't make digitally; I used my keyboard for the whole song, but then I had to leave home so I just continued everything on my PC.

New World/My world is the protagonist's theme, a quiet and curious girl that may look shy or unassuming on the outside, but has such a complex and interesting inside world that she shares with her closest friends.

While creating the soundtrack, I've started to get very attached to this idea and the cool possibilities that I could develop with it. So... who knows, maybe 'Floating' will become an actual game one day.

*I've just begun playing Celeste, so maybe more like the beginning of Celeste. I don't know how the rest of the game goes.

For now, you can also listen to 'Floating' on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/betelgeus_e/sets/floating .
